About

The second edition of the conference where Big Data Meets Survey Science (BigSurv20) will be held virtually on Fridays in November and early December. The dates are November 6, 13, 20, 27, and December 4, 2020.

During the conference, attendees, panelists, and presenters will engage in a variety of online discussions on the practical applications for employing Big Data and data science to improve the quality of statistics production and use. With a focus on how researchers and practitioners can successfully combine traditional survey and qualitative data with new data sources, such as registers, social media, apps, and other forms of digital data, the conference will explore different perspectives stemming from computer science, social science, and other disciplines.

Each BigSurv20 paper/demo session will be accessible via Zoom and consist of prerecorded talks and a live Q&A with the presenters during the last 15 minutes of each session. So even if you decide to watch presentations at your own leisure, be sure to join the live Q&A of your favorite sessions with the presenters. Presentation slides and recordings will be made available to registered BigSurv20 attendees as permitted by the presenters. I.e., if there is no link to the recording/slides available, these will only be streamed during the session itself.
